League of Kansas Municipalities (LKM) Conference

The 2023 LKM Annual Conference took place at the Hyatt Regency Wichita + Century II Convention Center in Wichita Kansas. Show Sponsors included Evergy, Cox Communications, Burns & McDonnell, Textron, PEC, Olsson, Greenbush Cooperative Purchasing, Oracle. There were approximately 100 exhibitors. The conference was a comprehensive combination of outside speakers and breakout education seminars.

Speech2Data LLC attended as an exhibitor providing attendees an opportunity to learn about the family of digital meetings recorders. Attendees were impressed with the simplicity, flexibility and functionality of these products. In addition, the incredibly low price of these systems (well under $2,000) was felt to be within the budgets of the smallest municipality’s budget.

Of special appeal was the fail-safe recording, 4-hour AC rechargeable battery and connectivity to the municipal IT network, permitting remote programming and file distribution. The other highly valued capabilities included automated note taking and noise management (resulting from ambient and eight live microphone feedback).

Attendees were further intrigued with the possibility of being able to assemble an integrated portable Emergency Recording kit.
